The African-American Mosiac: A Library of Congress Resource Guide for the Study of Black History & Culture.
American Civil War Homepage: A browsable index of "hypertext links to the most useful identified electronic files about the American Civil War (1861-1865)". Organized by topic. Contains links to a large number of primary online documents.
American Memory: Historical Collections for the National Digital Library: (The Library of Congress) Contains primary documents, motion pictures, photographs & sound recordings of important events in the history of the United States. Click on LEARN for indexes by events, people, places, time, or topics.
The Clarke Historical Library of Central Michigan University: Links to full textbooks, bibliographies, reference services, exhibits and other material in the Clarke Historical Library.
The Great War from PBS: This is the companion site to PBS' program on World War One, it features an interactive timeline and maps and locations.
The History Channel: The official web page of the History television station. The site includes a search engine by keyword or timeline, and links to "This Day in History", speeches, exhibits and discussions.
The Making of America (MOA): A digital library of primary sources in American social history from the antebellum period through Reconstruction, and now includes more than 1,600 books and 50,000 journal articles with 19th century imprints.
National Women's History Project: Provides links to Women's History sites on the Internet. Use the "Important History Links" button to browse sites by subject. Subjects include general information, African-American, math & science, world history, politics, etc.

U.S. Civil War Center: This web site is maintained by Louisiana State University, and contains links to over 2100 items, including both secondary sources and primary online texts such as newspapers, unit rosters, letters, and other documents, on the Civil War.
